Sodding is
the fast way to start a new lawn, sod can be installed almost any
time and will be ready to be enjoyed in as little as 3 weeks.
Sodding doesn’t take a great
deal of care. Sod can be installed where seeding may be difficult
to do, such as in slopes or high traffic areas.
We use only freshly harvested
sod, of the highest quality, ordered and delivered directly from a
local grower to the job site. The sod available in
Ontario is 100 percent
Kentucky Blue and accustomed to
Ontario weather and
environment.
Before laying down sod, as well
as planting seeds, we see that the soil is properly prepared and
conditioned, for the grass to grow strong roots, to form a mature,
healthy lawn.
The Sodding job that we provide involves:
Removing the weeds and debris from the area to be sodded
Roto-tilling the
area to loosen the soil, adding a high quality soil, rich in
organic matter. Grading, levelling and
adding top soil, if necessary.
Add a fertilizer
that is high in phosphorus to promote rapid root growth, anchoring
and blade development to get the newly planted grass
roots to knit with the surface soil
Lightly rolling
the surface of the area to be sodded to create a smooth, uniform
area to lay the sod. Then watering the area so that it is moist
thoroughly to a depth of about 6 inches. Laying the sod in
the moist area evenly, then lightly rolling the sod surface again,
this time to get the air in between out, so that the sod roots
make good contact with the soil.
After the sodding job is
done, the customer must water the sod. It is imperative that
the sodded area is kept constantly moist, until the roots take
hold to the soil underneath and begin to anchor, this will take
watering the sod at least 3 times daily for about 3 weeks.
If
the sod is not kept constantly moist for at least 3 weeks after
planting, the grass roots will not knit to the soil below,
resulting in the sod drying out.

GST sod, soil and fertilizer are included.
Grading,
levelling and amendments if necessary, is charged extra.
Planting Service
We use
plants that perform well in Ontario's weather and environment.
Our planting service includes the use of the
various plants, flowers, hedges, shrubs and trees found, and in use, in and around our city's
landscape. We also plant spring and fall bulbs, perennials, annuals,
biennials, as well as a variety of borders, tall grasses, etc.
The planting service includes a consultation
with our horticultural technician. Our horticulture expert will work with you
side by side in selecting the type of plant materials, to create an array of colors
and blooming sequence to satisfy your expectations.
Our horticulture expert will provide suggestions and will
answer questions you may have, in relation with the job at hand.
Our specialist will be involved, and supervise the
technical aspects of the planting.
We will do the
buying of the plants, and planting.
You may then do regular maintenance to your
flowerbeds yourself or hire us to do the flowerbed maintenance for you.
Tree Planting Service
We do residential shrub and tree planting. We can do the planting of
new trees and take care of the removal and disposal of trees that you may wish
to get rid of.

Early Spring, Late Spring and Fall Aeration
For a really well conditioned soil, aerate your lawn year round..! It
will greatly improve the health and look of your lawn ! Normally when you water the lawn a lot of the water runs off the
surface of the lawn to the street and sidewalk. The water that stays
on the lawn will quickly evaporate instead of getting into the soil,
making your watering and fertilizing efforts wasteful and inefficient.
However, our year round aeration service will keep little openings
in your lawn year round, making watering the lawn so much more
efficient because the water will go right in the little holes in
the lawn every time, effectively soaking up the soil each time you
water the lawn and getting to the grass roots . The soil will be
softer and looser for the grass roots to grow deeper and bigger
into the soil, creating bigger, stronger, deeply rooted grass
plants.
